What's On The TV?

Well, in a nutshell, not much, unless you enjoy Fox showcasing some rednecks.

Some networks have managed to put on a few new episodes of popular series ... The Simpsons, House, Family Guy, CSI, and so on. Of course, it's a better scene over on cable, with A Daily Show (yes, it's now not THE Daily Show) and the Colbert report soldiering on. Other favorite shows of mine like Monk, Stargate Atlantis have thus far been unaffected. And Battlestar Galactica Season 4 starts next month ... being the last season, it's sure to go out with a bang!

So instead, I've been paying a lot of attention to Netflix Instant Viewing. It's allowed me to reconnect to a lot of TV shows from my childhood - the cheesy ones, the funny ones, and two just totally awesome ones!

You know ...

I really am a total sop when it comes to underdog stories, but this story caught my attention especially given my nascent interest in opera. He was a guest on NBC's Today Show this morning, and I was lucky enough to catch the segment in between channel surfing for some news to watch.

The YouTube entry appears to be British, shot after the first round of the competition. He went on to win the competition.

Can you believe Paul Potts already has a Wikipedia entry?! And controversy?!

Chuckletime

A couple of interesting links ...

1. You know, I never quite thought of KITT in any other way until I read this strip.

2. So true, so true. It's just more fuel to the fire (har!) to get me to buy a new Alienware PC (or should I go Dell?)

Much ado about ... er, something

A bit of a brouhaha developing across the pond, over racist remarks made against Shilpa Shetty on Channel 4's Big Brother (see the link for extensive coverage)

Now, I don't - by any stretch of fevered imagination - condone racism ... or for that matter, any form of intolerance. But at the same time, part of me does wonder "How many of these comments were deliberately made to draw attention to a contestant on a reality TV program?"

Remember this guy ...

Remember Wil Wheaton?

I thought the chap had fallen off the map after Star Trek: TNG (for those of you still wondering, he was Ensign Crusher). Well, it turns out he had a popular blog.

I found it when I saw an article Wil Wheaton wrote, reviewing "The Last Outpost", from where I found his review of "The Naked Now".

If you've ever watched these episodes, please, please take the time to read his reviews. They're hilarious!
