Creature Comforts
Monday, December 24, 2007 at 1:53AM One of the nice things about my parents' new apartment (well, I say "new" ... they moved here about 2 years ago) is that the bathrooms are equipped with showers. Now, in India, running hot water is a rarity, and my parents had the design foresight to hook each bathroom's water heater to the showers and taps.
Only problem is that the heaters' capacities affords about 15 minutes of hot water at a trickle, which means one has to really, really ration the usage through the order of the bath. I was just thinking to myself this morning that upon my return to NYC, I'm going to spend 15 minutes just soaking in a massage shower.
Yes, maybe I'm spoilt. But of such luxuries are the the halls of civilization built!

Have been out of blogworld for quite some time. Visited your blog to see if there are any wedding pictures and I saw this blog entry complaining about lack of luxuries in India. Not a single post about the positive changes you noticed in India or some nostalgia that you experienced.
A guy who studied in Pilani for 3.5 years is complaining about bathroom luxuries? Come on Axe, you can do better!
