This totally sucks
Thursday, November 23, 2006 at 4:49PM My PC won't start up (luckily, I have a laptop from work to check mail with). I'm not able to get the BIOS on startup, so I'm guessing it's a mobo/ processor issue. I might be able to get the manufacturer to send me a new one ... but I'm wondering whether to either:
a) Switch to an iMac ... but I'm a little hesitant over the costs of new software (eg: Office, firewall, A/V ... and consider the cost of all the PC software that I can't use anymore), and things like being able to play foreign DVDs (a Mac's DVD player is locked to the region of purchase)
b) Replace the mobo/ processor with new ones under the manufacturer's warranty
c) Put in a new mobo/ processor ... I'm pretty anxious to try out the new Intel Core 2 line
