Musical Interlude Yet Again

So I bought the new Franz Ferdinand album ... and have been listening to it commuting and whilst working in the office. Admitedly, I haven't paid close attention to it, but even so, there haven't been any songs that really jumped out. Hopefully, this will not be the case after a few more listenings. I also bought the latest Maiden live album. I would consider it a 50% waste of money, simply because I do NOT want to listen to YET ANOTHER recording of Fear of the Dark/ Number of the Beast/ Hallowed Be Thy Name/ Run to the Hills.

Also, browsing iTMS last night, I stumbled across Ten Thousand Fists (the song, the first track in the album of the same name) by Disturbed. It is probably the best metal song I've heard this year. I mean, I don't really listen to much contemporary stuff, and am probably guilty of ignoring several good artists (I pick up new-er music listening to Musicmatch Radio most of the time ... or from an ad on TV). But Ten Thousand Fists is like ... Megadeth, if Dave Mustaine could sing ... Judas Priest (that is the current Death/ Speed Metal configuration) meets Soundgarden. However you choose to describe it, it's still one kick-ass metal song.

Oh, I also bought Strangelove by Depeche Mode, and 3 live Rammstein tracks (as impossible as this may sound, the band is even more menacing live)

i suggest you get the new depeche mode single, 'precious'. it is rather reminicient of 'enjoy the silence'.

disturbed is too average and commercial

try the new dream theater album (just make sure you listen to it without prior knowledge of what they used to sound like). Also, check out Queens of the Stone Age. They really are a breath of fresh air.

also, if you want some music to walk to, try out the ablum '13 Songs' by Fugazi. It is quite old (1989), but everything new (Franz Ferdinand, etc) revolve around their sound.
